Huag (sometimes spelled Huwag) is a traditional Filipino kundiman of unknown authorship, arranged by Pedro Concepción and Joel Malit. The title, meaning “Don’t”, suggests a plea or lament, often tied to themes of unrequited love or emotional struggle. Like many kundiman, it blends tenderness with melancholy, expressing deep feelings of love, sorrow, and longing. Through the distinct arrangements of Concepción and Malit, the piece has been preserved and given fresh interpretation, reflecting the enduring power of kundiman to capture the Filipino heart.
