Terms of Use
Last updated: May 8, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Philippine Guitar website and the purchase of sheet music arrangements ("the Service"). By using the site or purchasing arrangements, you agree to these Terms.
1. About this site
Philippine Guitar is a curated catalog of guitar arrangements drawn from the Filipino musical tradition. We sell digital downloads of sheet music — typically a PDF of the score and, where available, an audio preview. We do not sell physical goods.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase from this site, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. By placing an order, you confirm that the payment method you use is yours or that you are authorized to use it.
3. Your purchase — the license you receive
When you purchase an arrangement, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use that arrangement for your personal, non-commercial use. Specifically:
- You may download the file(s) for your own use.
- You may print as many copies as you reasonably need for your own practice and performance.
- You may perform the arrangement in private settings, classrooms, recitals, and other non-commercial contexts. Performance royalties for public/commercial performances of the underlying composition remain the responsibility of the performer where applicable.
4. What you may not do
To protect arrangers and their work, the license does not permit:
- Reselling, redistributing, lending, or sublicensing the file in any form.
- Uploading the file to file-sharing services, cloud lockers, group chats, or any platform where third parties can download it.
- Posting copies to forums, social media, GitHub, etc.
- Removing or altering watermarks, copyright notices, or arranger credits.
- Using the arrangement in a commercial recording, sync deal, advertisement, or any monetized publication without separate written permission from the arranger and Philippine Guitar.
5. Intellectual property
Each arrangement remains the intellectual property of its arranger. Underlying compositions remain the intellectual property of the original composer (or are in the public domain where applicable). Philippine Guitar is granted a non-exclusive distribution license by each arranger; we do not claim ownership of the music.
The site itself — its branding, design, copy, and code — is © Philippine Guitar.
6. Payment
Payments are processed by PayPal. We accept PayPal balances and major credit/debit cards via PayPal's guest checkout. We do not store card data on our servers. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may be subject to local conversion fees imposed by your bank or PayPal.
7. Delivery
After successful payment, you will receive an email containing a download link, usually within a few minutes. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder if it doesn't appear in your inbox — automated transactional emails sometimes land there. The link is unique to your order, has an expiration window (typically 72 hours and up to 5 download attempts), and is intended for your use only.
If you still cannot find the email after checking spam, contact us and we will resend.
8. Refunds
Because the goods are digital and immediately downloadable, all sales are final. We will, however, work with you in good faith if:
- The download link did not work and we cannot resolve it.
- The file you received is corrupt, incomplete, or materially different from what was described.
- You were charged twice in error.
Reach out within 14 days of your purchase via the contact page.
9. Arranger submissions
If you submit arrangements through the arranger portal, a separate Sheet Music Sales Agreement governs the terms under which Philippine Guitar may distribute your work. You sign that agreement on first sign-in to the portal. Nothing in these Terms overrides that agreement.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to: attempt to bypass authentication, scrape the catalog at scale, automate purchases, attack the site's infrastructure, upload malicious content through the submission portal, or use the site for any unlawful purpose.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the files will meet your specific needs. Audio previews are provided as approximations of the arrangement and may differ slightly from the printed notation.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Philippine Guitar's total liability arising out of or related to your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding any claim. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; failing that, through the state and federal courts located in California.
